The way of the Digital Samurais
Posted in: Design

Executive Decision trailer Seven months ago, when the first version of Digimurai website was launched, we experienced really huge success. Website has been featured on 20+ design and css galleries worldwide. The results were overwhelming: people liked it, and talked about it, site visits skyrocketed, and so did website’s Google page rank. Soon after this promotion, we got our first clients and Digimurais set off on their exciting digital journey.
As many other digital agencies around the world, we took this popularity for granted, and soon after the fantastic start we felt something is just not right. As the famous detective Sherlock Holmes shouted to Doctor Watson: “Elementary, my dear Watson, elementary!!!”! We forgot about some basic things. Feedback analysis, quality testing and other important procedures which are fundamental in keeping your website successful.
Ok, lesson learned. So we are now a bit smarter. One experience more in our wonder bag. A smart man can make a mistake only once! We’ll try to be that man :)
Google Analytics, tool that we all use for our websites, gives us quite precise information about users/visitors, and the way they interact with our websites. After a few months of tracking the Google Analytics results, we realized all the usability and concept weaknesses of Digimurai website. It is really amazing that only by carefully listening to feedback of your users/visitors, and having a positive attitude about it, one can make tremendous improvements of one’s online venture.
Taking it all in a new direction, we redesigned Digital Samurais, improved usability and brought more digital energy into it. It’s already online, don’t waste your time, check it out now!
See what I’m talking about. ;)

beautiful
I’m really surprised that this is the first time I’ve heard of the digimurais. As a smashing magazine follower, it’s normal to see ‘wow’ sites in their inspiration posts and be lectured on with their articles on usability, design, markup-and-style separation, writing for audiences, etc…
The current digimurai site seems to be a good example for all of those articles (from header to footer – your site is, for lack of a better word, COOL). Plus you don’t have the disadvantage of sounding like old, dried-up web developers. =)
I think you really deserve all the attention and from this blog post, I’m glad that you’re still open for improvement despite all you’ve managed to do so far.
Thanks Mary for your comment. We really appreciate all the nice words you wrote about our work. The bar is raised for a level up and we’ll try to impress you with our next project even more!
Cheers!
