Going after Progressive Enhancement

While I was reading Aaron Gustafson’s great article on A List Apart – “Understanding Progressive Enhancement
”, I got a clearer picture of what the main difference between Graceful Degradation and Progressive Enhancement is. It appears that Graceful Degradation was the main focus in my work methodology over the past few years, as well as for many other front-end developers out there.

Although both terms have the same goal – delivering accessible websites – the second method seems like a more proper way to do it. Productive methodology improves the development process by speeding up and simplifying the process of development.
The Wedding Singer buy Aaron Gustafson’s article not only helped me to understand Progressive Enhancement, it also presented (along with two more articles he wrote about Progressive Enhancement with CSS and Javascript) very good examples of how these two techologies can be used.
Can we change our ways by taking one step closer to Progressive Enhancement method? I will surely try to put it in my practice.
There are some great projects coming up here in Saturized studio, and it will be a good opportunity for us to improve our production methodology. Stay tuned :)
